Welcome to St Pius’ Catholic Primary School Enmore that is a part of the parish of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, Enmore-Tempe. We are a community journeying together in faith as we ‘Search, Serve and Soar’.
Our school offers contemporary, flexible learning and play environments which focus on the child as a learner. We provide a rich, diverse curriculum that caters for all students and their needs.
As a Catholic educator, I am passionate about ensuring that our school provides an inclusive, holistic education for every student. We build our students’ capacity to grow spiritually, academically, socially and emotionally to enable them to be confident learners today and inspirational leaders for tomorrow.
The school was established in 1907 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan. They were later followed in 1910 by the Sisters of Mercy, when Mother Mary Francis purchased the convent and grounds at Enmore, now the site of our current school. In recent times, the school has undergone refurbishment, keeping the integral structure of the school but creating contemporary flexible learning and playing spaces.
The charism of the Sisters of Mercy is to follow Jesus by responding to God’s call to know God’s loving kindness and share it with others. We actively live by the motto, ‘Everyone a helper’. We aspire to live by the model given to us through our founder Catherine McAuley, as we undertake faith-filled courageous service to others.
At St Pius Catholic Primary School Enmore, we are committed to the development of a nurturing Catholic community of faith with the Gospel message of Jesus. We foster a love of learning by delivering a dynamic and challenging curriculum that develops creative, critical thinkers. Our students are taught to value and respect diversity within and beyond the school.
As a community journeying in faith we:
SEARCH with our eyes wide open
SERVE with humble hearts
SOAR as ambassadors of Christ
PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
Our principles of learning stand at the core of who we are and what we do.
Our school works in partnership with the parish of Our Lady of the Southern Cross. The school enjoys a positive and mutually supportive relationship with the parish and with the parish administrator, Fr Christopher Higgins. On special feast days and celebrations, the school community attends Mass as a whole school, as well as participating in grade Masses throughout the term.
Our parish serves the suburbs of Enmore, St Peters, Sydenham and Tempe and is part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney.
